Mentorship
Beekeeping is not a solo hobby!
You want to have an experienced beekeeping mentor guiding you along your first year and even through your second .
From the moment you place your package of bees in the spring, to the moment you tuck the hive in for winter.
You want an experienced eye guiding you along.
As a first time beekeeper it isn't easy to spot the Queen or see eggs in your hive.
It is difficult to decipher all of the different miticides, sampling and feeding techniques that are available or recommended.
Second year beekeeping requires splitting your hives to prevent swarming, and that can be a challenge as well.
Having a mentor to help guide you is invaluable.
