2nd Year Beekeeping
Mentorship
The second year of keeping bees can be just as daunting as the first year.
When healthy beehives come out of winter in Colorado, they start foraging on the spring blossoms.
If you leave your beehive unmanaged you are in for a fun surprise!
They will swarm!
Most of my spring is filled with swarm capturing because beekeepers are not splitting their hives.
Bees are a superorganism and are meant to keep creating more of themselves.
The signal for swarming can be confusing to a 2nd-year beekeeper.
I want to make sure you keep your investments.
One strong hive can become 2 honey-producing hives in the summer if done correctly and responsibly.
I will demonstrate how to identify key signs that swarming is starting and how to split your one hive into two successfully!
If you let your bees swarm, that is a risk to your neighbor's pets and humans alike.
Let me help you keep your bees and neighbors safe.
I offer a 1 on 1 at home mentorship locally to Erie, Boulder, Longmont, Fredrick, Firestone, Dacono, Fort Lupton, Brighton, Hudson, Keenesburg, Platteville, Mead, Johnstown and other areas within a 30 to 40 minute drive from my home.
